First half thoughts: Northeastern forgot about the clocks!

Houston we have a problem! The number one seeded Northeastern Huskies forgot about day lights saving, because they are playing at least an hour behind George Mason thus far. It took Bill Coen's squad 9:35 seconds to score a basket! As I was reminded, VCU began on a 22-0 run on semi-final against these Patriots. Maybe Hewitt's thinking pay back, but knows he can't do it to Shaka.

On that day, the Rams lead 32-4 at one point. Today Mason lead 31-7 with under five minutes remaining in the half. Last year Mason came back and only lost, 74-64 being eliminated. We will have to wait and see how today's game ends, but the Huskies are going to need offensive production, and a lot of it.

Coen, who came just seven votes shy of coach of the year honors (Towson's Pat Skerry won in votes, 25-19) is obviously very frustrated. He brought this team to Richmond with the regular season title and the school's best finish since entering the conference in 2005. Coen was even issued a technical foul in the half, the first 'T' on any member of the Huskies bench since 2005.

A 9-0 run NU to close the half makes it a ball game at, 31-19.
