What You Know About That

What do these two teams know about each other?

   The Basics:

Distance between Harrisonburg and Bloomington-587 miles, just under nine hours

    Founded-JMU (1908), Indiana (1890)

    Enrollment-JMU (19,927), IU (42,347)

Head Coach- JMU (Matt Brady), IU (Tom Crean)

What do the Hoosiers know about JMU?

Well, we know Oladipo's history isn't up to date.

"They're a really good team. They won their conference," Oladipo said. "We watched a little bit of their game yesterday, and they do a lot of things well."

I'd like to see a dunk-off between Oladipo and A.J. Davis
Could there be a difference between the Big Ten and CAA as respectable conferences? Well, yes.

"The thing about the Big Ten, it prepares you for anything. It prepares you not to take anyone lightly," Oladipo said.

Andre Nation vs Oladipo will be the best matchup of the day tomorrow. They're almost identical in size and they've both been recognized by coaches and media for their defensive capabilities.

"I don't know too much, but I watched the game yesterday, and I watched their conference championship game," Oladipo said of Nation and JMU. "He does a lot of good things for them in order for them to win. Whether it be on-ball defending or blocking shots or things like that. So we're going to have to match his intensity."

The biggest question going into tomorrow will be who will get the best of who.

"I mean, he'll probably do whatever it takes to help his team win," Oladipo said. "Like I said before, he's a good defender, and after watching the game yesterday, he does a lot to help his team win."

  What do the Dukes know

"We know they got No. 1 seed," Nation said last night. "So we know we're about to play one of the best teams in the country. They've got a big man and they've got good guards."

There is no fear in this JMU team and they could care less if they're facing the Lakers on Friday afternoon.

"We've got nothing to lose," Nation said.

What to the Dukes want IU to Know about them

"I hope not," Rayshawn Goins answered of whether IU may know anything about the Dukes. "We can use that to our advantage. We want them to come out and try to take us lightly. That way we can put our foot on the pedal and keep it down for the whole game."

Nation had a different take on things. He wants the real Indiana.

"I hope they do actually, I hope they do," he said. "I hope they know all about us, man, so that way they know they've got to play their best."

This is the type of confidence that it will take JMU to contend at making history tomorrow.

"We have to be in the game with ten minutes to play, and we're not going to win the game in the first four minutes no matter how well we play and how well we shoot," Brady said. "You're not going to win--you're not going to beat Indiana or any other 1 seed in the first five or ten minutes."

What's a 16 seed's confidence as they try to do the impossible

"Strangely, it's probably pretty high. I think it's not unrealistic. We recognize--the kids recognize that we're playing a great basketball team," Brady said. "So it's a focused team. It is a confident team. But as I've said to the team, we're going to have to play great, and we're going to have to hope that they don't play great."

JMU vs Indiana tomorrow 4:10 p.m. UD Arena
